Week 1- Today we started our first lesson of A2 media. We spoke about what this years media will consist of and learnt the basics of music videos. We have had a little play around on imovie as well.
Week 2- In this lesson, we did a quick music video analysis to prepare us for when we do them further in to the lesson. I did it on A team by Ed Sheeran. I included screenshots of parts of the video so it was clear which bit I was writing about.
As well as doing my music video analysis, my other teacher spoke to us about Andrew Godwin and his theory so we made a little powerpoint on him.
Week 3- We have had a look at lots of different videos and I have put 8 on my blog for inspiration.
Week 4- I have now started deconstructing a few of the videos I put on my blog the previous week. We have also designed our own questionnaires similar to the ones we did last year but on music videos. I have done this so I can find out what people like and what appeals to them in a music video. This will help me chose what genre/type of music video I want to achieve.
Week 5- Today we have spoke about digipaks because we are going to be designing our own as well as making our music video.
Week 6-This week we wrote out our permission letters to send off to the record label of the song I have chosen to do-"Jess Glynne, Take me home". I have emailed my letter to them to make sure I can use the song.
Week 7- I have done an idea sheet with 3 different ideas for my video and got some feedback on which would work best and hopefully get me the best grade.
Week 8-I have looked into the background of the song and the record label and put a bit of information about them both on my blog.
Week 9- In this lesson I started planning my storyboard for my music video.
I am still doing my story board but have nearly completed it. I know what I am going to film for each lyric of the song so as soon as the cameras are sorted I can start my filming.
Week 10- I have sorted all my locations and models out so need to take pictures of my models and location to put on my blog.
Week 11- I haven't got round to putting all my work on to my blog yet so i'm going to do that now. I need to scan my sheets and just put other bits on my blog.
I have put a link to the song I have chosen to do and put a copy of the lyrics on my blog.
Week 12- This weekend I went out and started my filming. Because a big bit of my video is going to be miming to the lyrics I can film it at school in front of a plain background. At the weekend I went up to Berry Head to film bits of scenery to fill bits of my video. I need to go down to a beach and use a male and female but the weather wasn't good enough this weekend.
Week 13- Today I am going to do the miming part of my video in school. I will use a green screen and change it to a plain pastel colour; like Jess does in her video. I will only do this for each of the chorus's else it will get too repetitive and boring.I am going to do it for each chorus's because else it won't look right if I only do it once.
Week 14- I have done some more of my filming and have uploaded it on to the mac and now I just need to start editing it all together and fitting it in with the song. I will play around with different special effects and see what looks best.
